My Accomplishments

Work
  1. First Choice Personnel - Produced all marketing materials for a company that was already 40 years old
    1. Used materials from Snelling and Snelling - owner was one of the original Snelling franchise owners, so he owned the rights to the information.  
  2. First Choice Personnel - Stole the Tony Chachere’s account from King-Patin Staffing
    1. Lou was mad at me, but she hired me later because of this
  3. Fixed numbers at Aaron’s - Returns and Sales
  4. Core Petrophysics - Moved to Houston to and was the best at sidewall core analysis from day one. I had not performed sidewall core analysis in over 2 years. 
  5. Core Petrophysics - Malachi Jr. - Mr. Ted, the CEO of the company, calls my dad Malachi (mainly because Mr. Ted is crazy). He called me Malachi Jr. because I was the only one in the office that could get the numbers to match up as well as they should (dad was the only other person at the company who was that good at sidewall core analysis).  
  6. 8 years worth of working with the public - understand how to deal with irate customers, drunk customers, and extremely demanding customers; knowledge of negotiating and the sales process
  7. BNI - Education Coordinator
    1. Education Coordinator:
      1. Whenever possible should also be part of the Membership Committee.
      2. Coordinates with the President the weekly networking tips for presentation to members. (Uses only BNI authorized material.)
      3. Coordinates Chapter library.
      4. Attends Leadership/Membership Committee training twice a year.
      5. Agrees to abide by, and enforce BNI Code of Ethics, Policies, and Procedures.

Personal
  1. Fought Crohn’s Disease and won (see "My Greatest Accomplishment" for more information)
  2. I was literally on my death bed, then completely defied logic to get healthy again much quicker (4 years quicker, to be exact) than any of my doctor's ever thought possible - it was not because they were wrong in their assessment of my condition, but because of my strength and determination (this is per one of my doctors)
  3. Flunked out of school and still made something of myself
    1. Fought for 8 years to go back
    2. Mother died when I was 18, Crohn's almost killed me, and a whole lot of other stuff, and I still came back and graduated at the age of 33

      1. Faith House of Acadiana - Repainting and general prepping of the battered women’s shelter to prepare for residents to move in
      2. BREC Inclusive Recreation Department - Officiate soccer games for mentally disabled children
      3. Zippity Zoo Fest at Baton Rouge Zoo - hand out treats to children and their families

  1. Maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA even though I’ve had health problems and three surgeries during my school career (again, see this page for more information)
  2. The National Society of Leadership and Success Honor Society – Presidential Level Member
    1. January, 2010 - Present
    2. Selected by campus administration to participate among top students in a leadership program including:
      1. Leadership Training Day: Trained in leadership and success skills via an introspective and interactive training session.
      2. Speaker Events: Participated in seminars led by celebrities and best-selling authors on topics such as leadership, time management, and goal setting.
      3. Success Networking Teams:
        1. Led peer based leadership development teams as SNT Facilitator (prepared for and led all steps of the SNT meetings)
        2. Experience in setting and achieving goals, receiving coaching, coaching others, and holding others accountable to commitments.
    3. Recipient of The National Excellence in Leadership Award
